His sister is Maggie Gyllenhaal who acted as his sister in the 2001 hit movie "Donnie Darko" where Jake played a psychologically troubled teen seeing a 6' foot tall bunny rabbit named Frank. He is now 28 years old. He has two dogs, one German Shepard named Atticus, and a Puggle named Boo Radley, after two charactes in his favorite book, "To Kill A Mockingbird".
